Prime Minister's Visit To Iran Postponed
- 1 Oct 2015 5:10 AM
The official visit by the prime minister to Iran has been postponed at the request of the Iranian side. Viktor Orbán was scheduled to travel to Iran on Oct. 5, Orbán’s press chief said. Bertalan Havasi noted that more than 700 people died—many of them Iranians—in an incident that occurred during the annual Hajj pilgrimage last week near the city of Mecca.
Another 863 people were injured in one of the greatest tragedies in the pilgrimage’s history.
The spokesman said the Hungarian and Iranian sides would continue to work on arranging a visit in the near future.
