Mayor István Tarlós has written to Prime Minister Viktor Orbán complaining that if the state does not help Budapest in funding the operations of public transport company BKV, then the cost to passengers will have to be raised five-fold. Tarlós raised the possibility of introducing a registration fee for children and pensioners, who travel free of charge.
