Hungarian Planned Bomb In Romania
Romanian authorities have arrested a Hungarian far-right activist suspected of planning to detonate an explosive device during a march in Targu Secuiesc to mark Romania’s national day on Tuesday. István Beke, a member of the irredentist 64 Counties Youth Movement, was caught along with an associate with the help of the Romanian intelligence service SRI. Materials for making explosives were found in his home.

The SRI told Digi 24 television that Beke, a dual Hungarian-Romanian citizen, had been under surveillance for some time.

Hunor Kelemen, head of the ethnic Hungarian party RMDSZ, said he condemns all violent acts and distances himself from all extremist acts that create tension between communities.
