2015 Expected To Be Record Year For Hungarian Exports
On Friday morning, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s Minister of State for Economic Diplomacy Levente Magyar said on Hungarian public television M1 that “2015 is expected to be a record year for Hungarian exports, based on figures for the first 11 months of the year”. Commenting on November figures published by the Central Statistical Office, Mr. Magyar said that the level of exports achieved during the first 11 months of last year had been the highest ever recorded.

As an example, he mentioned the fact that in November alone Hungarian exports reached 8.1 billion euros, while imports totalled some 7.4 billion euros. This equates to a positive surplus of some 673 million euros.

The foreign trade balance for the first 11 months of last year was EUR 7.4bn, a 20 percent increase compared to the EUR 6bn achieved during the similar period in 2014.

The automotive, chemical and pharmaceutical industries achieved especially high exports, and agriculture also performed very well, the Minister of State said, adding that if the positive trend proves to have continued in December the export-import balance for the whole year will total some 7.5-8 billion euros.
