Sister Of President Appointed New Head Of Schools
The Ministry of Human Capacities announced last night that Mrs. Gábor Pölöskei, the sister of Hungary’s President János Áder, will be appointed president of the central school administration (KLIK) from March 1, according to reports.

Klebelsberg Institution Maintenance Center (KLIK), is the state-run organization that provides a central administration for schools in Hungary and has been the subject of a series of recent demonstrations.

Teachers say KLIK’s excessive control over curriculum forces students to take on a great deal of unnecessary classes that emphasize memorization over analytical thinking. KLIK has also recently come under fire for accumulating a massive debt that prevents it from providing much-needed funds to schools.

Pölöskei will assume the post of government commissioner, according to online news portal origo.hu. The current head of KLIK, József Hanesz will leave his post by mutual consent on February 29. As a result of the shift in management, the minister of human capacities has promised reforms at KLIK from July 1 of this year.
