Court Awards Severance Pay To Ex-MPs
The European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg has ruled that the Hungarian state must pay Ft 800,000 each to Erzsébet Gy. Németh and Szilvia Kovács Frank. Both were Socialist MPs until 2010 and collected severance pay, which the Orbán cabinet punished by imposing a 98% special tax on it.

The European court ruled in 2013 that the special tax violated rights to private property.

Katalin Ildikó Szüts Boross, who was dismissed as head of Magyar Posta in 2010, will receive nearly Ft 20 million as a result of the court ruling.
