Hungarian Passport Ranks Tenth On Visa-Free List
Hungary was ranked tenth on a list compiled by Henley & Partners, the global leader in residence and citizenship planning, which evaluates the passports of each country every year, focusing on how many countries out of the 218 independent states a given country’s citizens can travel to without requiring a visa.

Hungary’s position dropped one rung from last year and is now tied with Czech Republic as the best performer among countries of the former Soviet block.

Similar to previous years, citizens that hold a German passport can enter the most countries, a total of 177, without visa requirements. Sweden came in second this year, followed by Finland.

Freedom of movement has never been this widespread and an increasing number of countries appear to be easing up on their visa policies, according to research compiled in January by the UN’s World Tourism Organization, Hungarian online daily origo.hu reported.

When comparing Henley & Partners list from last year, none of the countries listed fell more than three places, and this reveals that visa-free travel has improved significantly in the past few years, origo.hu added.

The full list of the countries can be found on the official website of Henley & Partners Visa Restrictions Index: http://visaindex.com/#
