Pianist József Balázs is the leader and arranger of the East Gipsy Band which was immensely successful both at New York’s famous Blue Note and at the Detroit Jazz Festival, and he also happens to be one of the best jazz pianists in Hungary.
He is accompanied by his famous brother, Elemér Balázs on the drums who is, arguably, the best drummer in his country.
As for him, it’s best to quote what the American guitar ace, Pat Metheny said of him: "Elemér is one of the best drummers around right now, in my opinion.” On bass the trio is completed by the incredible young virtuoso, Krisztián Pecek Lakatos who was only 13 when he won the National Jazz Bass Competition with John Pattitucci chairing the jury
