Dávid Klein Becomes First Hungarian Alpinist Ever To Conquer Himalayan Peak Annapurna
Annapurna is a massif in the Himalayas with a peak on 8091 meters high. Dávid Klein, the Hungarian alpinist had conquered the top of the mountain without porters and oxygen tanks on Sunday afternoon by local time. He is the first Hungarian alpinist who has ever got to the peak of the 8091 meters high Annapurna in the Himalayas.

There are 14 peaks above 8000 meters in the world and only two of them which have never been climbed by a Hungarian climber before. Until Sunday, one of those was the Annapurna what had been overcame by Dávid within the Johnny Walker Annapurna Expedition.

When he returned from the reaching of the peak to the camp no. 4. he signed on phone. “I am in safety in the camp and I can confirm I reached the peak of the Annapurna on the 1st of May, without oxygen tanks. It was a very hard climb up to the top and down to return also so we had to take a rest with Jost (my German climber mate), in the Camp no. 4.,” Dávid said on telephone after the return to the base camp.

Born in 1975, Dávid Klein has been an active alpinist since the age of thirteen and began his career in high-altitude mountain climbing in 1998.
