Budapest’s Liberty Bridge in the central part of the capital will be closed starting on Thursday until the end of August while renovation work is carried out on nearby tram tracks and platforms. Budapest transport centre BKK said the renovation works will affect the schedules and routes of trams running through St Gellért Square, Móricz Zsigmond Square, Bartók Béla Road and Fehérvári Road in the 11th district.
Trams 47, 48 and 49 are expected to be out of service until the end of the summer and the routes of trams 17 and 19 will be modified.
BKK said it will increase service frequency for metro 4 to minimise traffic delays.
