Monday, June 13, 2016 at 5 p.m. at the Vera and Donald Blinken Open Society Archives

In his talk, Professor Honigsberg will present the work of the Witness to Guantanamo project. Included in his presentation will be video clips of some of the project interviews of former detainees and others who lived or worked at the detention center in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He will also provide a brief history of the creation and evolution of the prison.

Professor Peter Jan Honigsberg is professor of law at the University of San Francisco and founder and director of the Witness to Guantanamo project. He teaches and writes in the fields of human rights; humanitarian law; national security; administrative law; and international criminal law. His current work focuses on the detention center in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Prof. Honigsberg has written numerous articles,blog pieces and books, including Our Nation Unhinged, published by the University of California Press.
