Budapest Design Map 2016 – An Informative Map Of The Budapest Design Scene
On the occasion of the World Design Day, a fourth, updated edition of the Budapest Design Map has been published to provide visitors to Budapest with a small printed map and a free mobile application with first-hand information on the key design-oriented venues and institutions in the Hungarian capital.

With over a hundred locations in Budapest – design shops, showrooms, workshops and professional institutions – covered, the Budapest Design Map is the most comprehensive tourist guide of urban design life. A special feature of this year’s publication is extended reality used for the photos in the printed map, which can be explored using an application called Layar.

Budapest Design Map is free to download, and is a fully functional mobile application even in offline mode, which presents the key design points of Budapest in a structure with a search facility by name, area of work and location, while the online mode offers a practical route planning function between destinations.

The printed version of Budapest Design Map is available at tourist information points, design shops and at selected bars and cafés in town, while the mobile app can be downloaded from the AppStore and Google Play webstore.

The brilliantly clear app was designed by graphic designer José Tábori-Simon, developed by codebureau.hu, and extended reality contents elements were programmed by smartest.hu. Budapest Design Map is a publication of Budapest Design Week. The patron and sponsor of Budapest
