Concerning the resignation of British Prime Minister David Cameron Szijjártó said it was a “personal loss” because of the two governments’ shared endeavours to increase national competencies within the European Union.
In another interview broadcast on commercial TV2, the Hungarian foreign minister said that the planned NATO command unit to be set up next year at Székesfehérvár, in central Hungary, would have a staff of 20 Hungarian soldiers and 20 from other NATO countries.
Concerning NATO and Russia, Szijjártó said that a strategy of “deterrence and dialogue at the same time” was needed.
Both NATO and Hungary have an “explicit interest” in having a strategic dialogue with Russia, developing into cooperation based on mutual trust, he added.
