Hungarian Parties Advocate Referendum Boycott
Together and Dialogue parties and the Modern Hungary Movement led by Lajos Bokros yesterday announced a joint billboard campaign aimed at persuading voters to boycott the October 2 referendum on migrants.

The leading politicians of the parties presented their billboard to reporters on Kossuth tér, showing the words “This is the answer to a silly question,” above a picture of a woman and man extending the middle fingers of their right hand in a well-known vulgar gesture.

Additional text reads “Who stays at home votes for Europe”.

The referendum will not be valid if less than half of eligible voters take part.

The three parties plan to spend Ft 10-20 million on the billboard campaign, to purchase 300-400 advertising spaces.
