Trócsányi Sees Moral Code For Mayors In Hungary
The Justice Ministry pans to work out a legal solution to ensure that no-one can be a mayor without a certificate of moral integrity, Justice Minister László Trócsányi said on Friday.

He said a contradictory situation had developed in the matter of the mayor of Gyömrõ.

Independent mayor Levente Gyenes was re-elected on August 28 despite his conviction on charges of tax fraud and document forgery. He was given a nine-month prison term, suspended for two years, but was not banned from holding public office.
