Tarlós Alerts Public To Dangers Of Delaying Metro 3 Revamp
- 4 Oct 2016 9:00 AM
Budapest Mayor István Tarlós has said that any further delays to the project to revamp the city’s third metro line would carry serious risks to public safety. In an interview to commercial broadcaster ATV, he noted that the metro line transports three times as many people per day than the entire population of the city of Debrecen.
“To slow down the process of renovation would be more than irresponsible,” Tarlós said. He added that the municipality did not take responsibility for the delays.
János Lázár, the government office chief, must “speed up and focus” otherwise the ruling Fidesz party will have “big problems” in Budapest, the mayor said.
