Lufthansa Increases Pax Numbers On Hungarian Flights
The number of passengers on Hungarian flights of the Germany-based Lufthansa Group rose slightly by 1% to 1.36 million in the first three quarters of 2016, compared to the equivalent period last year, the airline announced.

Ticket sales were up 2% during the first three quarters compared to the previous year, said Gábor Antal, the airlineʼs chief in Hungary, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.

This summer the group increased its passenger capacity by 9% in Hungary, with scheduled flights to Debrecen, Hungaryʼs second-largest city, reaching their full-year passenger number target in the first six months of the year, the chief was reported as saying.

German airline Lufthansa’s first flight on the Munich-Debrecen route touched down in Debrecen in April, a milestone for the airline, Antal announced. Passenger numbers of the airline’s Budapest flights were up by 12% last year compared to the previous year, reaching a total of 1.6 million, the chief added. The numbers make Lufthansa Group the runner-up on Hungaryʼs air passenger market, Antal noted.

Lufthansa Technik AG, Germany’s leading aircraft maintenance and engineering company, recently opened a new Aircraft Engineering Services Center at Budapest’s Ferenc Liszt International Airport.
