In keeping with its commitment to “fast-paced” expansion of Budapest flights, easyJet announced the launch of three new Budapest routes this year, the press statement said. After this year’s Lyon and Venice, the airline is planning to add Amsterdam to its schedule from February next year, raising the total number of destinations from the Hungarian capital to eight.
The Hungarian market is full of opportunities, which has boosted easyJet’s growth here in 2016, said William Vet, the airlineʼs regional commercial chief.
By February, easyJet will be flying from Budapest to London Gatwick, Berlin, Paris, Lyon, Geneva, Basel, Venice and Amsterdam.
According to figures issued today, easyJet saw passenger numbers rising by 6.9% during the fall season, as compared to the same period a year earlier, which means approximately 440,000 more passengers decided to fly with the airline. The total number of passengers reached 6,842,699 in October in Europe.
