One In Four Hungarians Regularly Go Without Food
Nearly one in four (23.8 percent) Hungarians regularly go without food, and one in three do not have access to adequate food, reports vg.hu citing data collected by Élelmiszerbank (Food bank).

According to an OECD study, the number of Hungarians who do not have enough to eat increased over the past five years from 17.4 percent to 30.6 percent, three-quarters of which regularly go without sufficient food.

According to the European Commission, one-third of all food produced globally is wasted. In Hungary some 2 million tons of food is discarded every year according to vg.hu.
