Crime Down In Budapest Last Year
The number of registered crimes in Budapest dropped by 13% last year, from 70,062 in 2015, to 60,864, Budapest Police chief Gábor Bucsek announced on Thursday.

A survey carried out by the Central Statistics Office late last year found that 79% of the city’s residents feel safe compared to 65% one year previously.

The number of car thefts dropped from 1,859 to 1,197 last year and car burglaries declined from 2,560 to 2,100.

House burglaries dropped by more than 21%, and robberies by nearly 27%.
