Heads Up Budapest

Budapest has a marvelously rich architectural heritage, representing a wide range of styles from over the past century. As you walk the streets, it is worth pausing every now and then, and looking up. #felafejjelbudapest (#headsupbudapest) is a youthful social and architectural project that was inspired by this knowledge.
Its initiator, Bence Bodnár thinks “it’s incredible how many beautiful buildings we walk past every day, without noticing them, because we are busy tapping on our phones, and refuse to raise our head.”
The project made its debut at last year’s Spring Festival, when the theme was Art Nouveau. This year, between 31 March and 23 April, stickers will be posted outside twenty Art Deco buildings in the inner city, revealing their architect, the year of their construction, and their style.
The hashtag #felafejjelbudapest is already spreading on social media, and everyone can upload their photos of one beautiful building in Budapest or another. Heads up!
