LMP Calls For Cross-Party Support Against Verbal Abuse
- 16 May 2017 12:00 PM
Party co-leader Bernadett Szél told a press conference that recent cases of aggression in public discourse included threatening politicians with physical violence in parliament, publishing writings by public authors that incite hatred and attacking journalists.
She said the ruling alliance of Fidesz and the Christian Democrats had not responded to LMP’s initiative, whereas the opposition Socialists had yet to state a clear position.
The opposition Democratic Coalition is boycotting parliamentary work entirely, Szél said.
She said the opposition Jobbik party and all independent lawmakers supported LMP’s initiative.
