Nézőpont: Record 44% Would Re-Elect Hungar's PM Orbán
A record 44% of Hungarian voters would re-elect the incumbent prime minister if elections were held now, according to a survey by the Nézőpont Institute. Support for Viktor Orbán in May was higher than for the other five opposition contenders combined, Nézőpont said.

Gábor Vona of the radical nationalist Jobbik party would receive 11%, followed by Bernadett Szél of LMP with 8%. Ferenc Gyurcsány of the leftist Democratic Coalition was backed by 6% while László Botka of the Socialists had 5% support.

Fully 2% approved of Liberal leader Gábor Fodor. Nézőpont said that support for Orbán had increased from 32 % in May 2015, when the institute conducted its first survey gauging voter support for prime ministerial candidates.

Over the course of the past two years, support for Vona reached its zenith of 13 % in August, 2015, the think-tank said.

Nézőpont surveyed a representative sample of 1,000 voting-age adults by phone between May 9 and 11.
