Radio Karc FM Fined Due To Bayer Comments
- 4 Aug 2017 8:34 AM
On the April 25 programme entitled “Palaver,” newspaper columnist Zsolt Bayer condemned activists who had silently protested in Parliament against a bill on NGOs.
He said in part: “If these or people like them again appear in the Parliament, and disrupt work there, they should be thrown out like a cat to shit. If they have to be pulled out by their snot and blood . . . If necessary, their face must be smashed.”
The radio station will also have to announce the ruling and remove the programme from its website.
LMP co-president Bernadett Szél had filed a complaint on the matter to the Media Council.
The NMHH also ruled that TV2 provided unbalanced information on its “Tények” newscast in June.
It said the report presented the opinion of the governing parties on June 4, National Unity Day, but did not report Jobbik’s relevant opinion, which differed from that of Fidesz, and therefore did not comply with the requirement to provide balanced information.
The NMHH called on TV2 to make public its decision or a statement thereon at a point of time identical with that unlawful newscast, or enable Jobbik to present its views on air.
