Origo Film Section Staff Resign

The article entitled “Coke, popcorn and migrant propaganda” was posted by Bálint Bordács, a man with a Fidelitas past, who was recently hired by Origo.
The departing journalists wrote on Facebook and Twitter: “Since September 2003 no article appeared until last night, which we would not claim as our own.”
The article, they added, “is as far from us in spirit as possible. We tried to keep our integrity as long as we could. We could until yesterday”.
In his lengthy essay, Bordács describes the recent German movie Willkommen bei den Hartmanns and British film Victoria and Abdul as pro-Muslim propaganda.
The film section was the only part of Origo to remain more or less untouched by the storms and changes of ownership of recent years, as it stayed apolitical, Heti Válasz observes.
Magyar Stratégiai, run by the son of MNB governor György Matolcsy, bought New Media Group, which owns Origo, in the summer.
Origo is in the sphere of influence of Fidesz media advisor Árpád Habony, Heti Válasz adds.
