Austrian Police Turn Over German Murder Suspect To Hungary
A German national suspected of having committed a murder earlier this month in southern Hungary has been turned over to Hungarian authorities by Austrian police, Hungary’s national police ORFK said on its website on Thursday.

The 52-year-old man is accused of having fired shots in a parking lot along the M5 motorway at the village of Csengele near the Serbian border on the morning of December 5. One of the two men targeted died, the other suffered life-threating injuries in the incident.

Austrian police arrested the suspect on the evening of the following day at his home in upper Austria on a European warrant with the help of Hungarian authorities, ORFK said.

The suspect has been turned over to Hungarian authorities under a recent ruling of an Austrian court, ORFK said, adding that he has been taken to the police headquarters in Csongrád county to face further legal proceedings.
