Afghan Man Sentenced To Five Years For Assaulting Hungarian Policeman
The Szeged court of justice said that it had sentenced an Afghan man to five years in prison for assaulting police officers.

After a four-year sojourn in Austria, the man decided in summer 2016 to return to his native land.

He did not, however, wait for the administrative procedure to finish, and set out across Hungary, where he was apprehended.

The drawn-out procedure rendered the man, who has been diagnosed with psychological problems, increasingly impatient and aggressive.

He obtained the handgun of the officer in charge and bit one of the policemen trying to retrieve it from him, the authorities said.

The court’s ruling is binding.
