Free Travel in Budapest for Dogs on Volán Buses
Bicycles and pets can be carried on most HÉV trains and Volán services within Budapest free of charge from January 1, the state public transport group said.

Passengers with a valid pass can transport one bicycle or one dog at a time.

Bicycle tickets are still required for InterCity and express trains and for some international services.

Bicycles will still not be permitted on Volán bus services for passenger safety reasons.

The changes are a response to passenger feedback.
