BISB Students Attend 'Big Sing Bratislava'
On Saturday 21st April, the Music Department and 16 Primary students from The British International School Budapest headed to Bratislava for a day of music-making with 10 schools from 6 different countries making over 180 voices.

Sarah James, Director of Performing Arts, told XpatLoop, "Our students worked hard last term to prepare for this event and were very excited to meet all the other primary students that they were going to collaborate with in Bratislava.

The students continued to work hard in rehearsals during the day, focusing on part-singing and maintaining their independent line while blending with other parts.

In the evening the students performed a repertoire of 10 pieces, with some highlights being  ‘Pirate for a Day’, ‘Can’t stop the feeling’ and ‘One Little Voice’.

In the latter song, we were very proud that Maja Torma in Year 4 was selected for the opening solo and Lilla Bota in Year 5 selected as part of a smaller ensemble role.

As part of this Big Sing, the students were also able to work alongside and watch the performance of a visiting barbershop group from the UK.

Our Juilliard curriculum specialist, Steve Dunn, also came to watch the whole concert. Well done to all the students involved in our weekend of music-making."
