HUF 100 Million Stolen In Daytime Raid In Budapest
Thieves riding on a motorcycle made off with an estimated Ft 100 million from a money-changing booth in the heart of downtown Budapest on Monday morning.

A company official said the robbers may have kept the business on Régi posta utca, just off Váci utca, under surveillance for some time, as they knew when the cash was to be taken to a bank.

When a staff member brought out the day’s earnings, one of the assailants threatened the employee and the courier with a gun, took the cash from them, then got on the motorcycle of an associate waiting nearby and sped off.

The store manager said the robber threw away or dropped his firearm about 100 metres from the site of the robbery.

Police are investigating.
