The people of Hungary have made Europe stronger; their vibrant culture and economic dynamism rippled through the entire EU, the president of the European Commission said, marking the 20th anniversary of Hungary's EU accession.
The presidents of the National Election Office (NVI) and the National Election Committee (NVB) briefed foreign diplomats accredited to Hungary about the European Parliament elections set for June 9 and the municipal and minority self-government elections also to be held on the same day, the two organisations said in a joint statement.
Foreign nationals can also feature on the party lists for the election of Hungarian members of the European Parliament (EP) if they are citizens of other EU member states and are resident in Hungary.
