Central European Fashion Week in Budapest, 9 - 15 February
- 21 Jan 2026 1:53 PM
Organised by Creative Hungary, the week-long programme will feature more than 40 designers from nine countries, including Czechia, Slovakia, Poland, Slovenia, Serbia, Armenia, Romania and Ukraine, alongside Hungary’s strongest contemporary brands.
Across the city, fashion professionals and the public can expect runway shows, talks, showroom events and industry networking, making BCEFW one of the most important creative gatherings in the region.
Regional designers, international reach
This season, 17 international designers and 24 Hungarian brands will present their collections in a mix of group shows and individual runway presentations. The goal is not only to showcase emerging and established talent, but also to strengthen regional cooperation and support designers in building international careers.
According to Zsófia Jakab, CEO of Creative Hungary and ministerial commissioner for creative industries, BCEFW has become a key platform for Central and Eastern European fashion.
“We are no longer just following trends — we are shaping the voice of the region,” she said. “Budapest provides a stage for neighbouring designers, while our international partnerships help Hungarian brands enter new markets and build long-term business relationships.”
The headline catwalk shows will take place from 13–15 February at two striking Budapest locations:
Friday, 13 February – Apolló Gallery, hosting innovative collections from the new generation of designers
Saturday and Sunday – Hungarian Museum of Fine Arts, where fashion meets classical culture in one of the city’s most iconic buildings
Alongside the runway shows, the Museum of Fine Arts will host a Fashion Hub with professional talks, workshops and a dedicated showroom for buyers and distributors.
Supporting new talent
A strong focus of the 2026 season is talent development. The programme includes collective showcases, solo presentations and full runway productions, giving young brands a clear path to visibility and professional growth.
A new category, NEW GENERATION INDIVIDUAL SHOW, has been created for emerging designers ready to move beyond group formats and present their own full collections.
Sustainability also plays a central role, with many designers integrating responsible production and long-term thinking into their work as standard practice.
Beyond the runway, BCEFW extends into Budapest’s cultural and creative life with nearly 50 events across the city.
These include:
* Professional talks and industry forums
* Pop-up showrooms and brand launches
* Discount shopping events
* Educational and networking programmes
The aim is to connect Hungarian fashion with a wider audience, strengthen demand for local design, and support the long-term growth of the creative sector.
Tickets are now on sale, and the full programme will be available on the official BCEFW website.
