Anti-EU Ads Removed From Weber’s View In Budapest

Dozens of anti-EU billboards portraying European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and George Soros were removed from the road leading to the airport early on Tuesday morning before the arrival of European People’s Party politician Manfred Weber.
Billboards were left untouched everywhere else, and the related ad campaign continues in other media.
The government has promised to end its anti-EU ad campaign on March 15, in an effort to placate its EPP critics.
Some of the billboards along the airport road were replaced by other ads promoting the March 15 holiday, but many surfaces were left blank.
In the afternoon, activists from the Momentum party spray-painted new English-language messages on these surfaces, reading “One day ago this was hate propaganda” and “Grow some balls, Weber”.
