Hungary's incoming Tisza government will retain all effective existing policies, as outlined in its 240-page platform, Peter Magyar, the party's leader, said in an interview to public media on Wednesday.
Independent MP Ákos Hadházy announced his retirement on Monday. He said on social media that after the voters’ decision he is leaving public life and will continue as a private individual.
Magyar is the most visible new face on Hungary’s political stage — a former Fidesz insider who turned into a high-profile opposition leader almost overnight. He now accuses the government of nepotism, misusing EU funds, and using state media for propaganda, advocating for policies to combat corruption and restore democratic institutions.
Politics should be thought of solely as a service, not as a career, Prime Minister Viktor Orban said in an interview uploaded to a YouTube channel on Thursday evening.
