First Guests Arrive At Airport Near Balaton
The first charter flight of the new season landed in Sármellék Hévíz-Balaton Airport on Saturday, carrying more than 80 passengers on a Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt.

Hotels in the Lake Balaton region expect 50,000 overnight stays from guests arriving at the regional airport, said László Könnyid, honorary chairman of the Hungarian Hotels and Restaurants Association.

Zalakaros, Héviz, Bükfürdő, Sárvár and Kehidakustány, all with thermal baths, are the most popular local towns among foreign visitors.

The Sármellék airport serves flights from Frankfurt and three other cities until mid-October.
