’Floralia’ Roman Spring Festival In Aquincum, 10 – 12 May
Between 10 and 12 May, the the Aquincum Museum will be hosting for the 30th time its largest traditional Roman event, the most popular holiday of the Roman period, the Floralia spring festival.

More from the organisers: The ancient festival comes back to life at the Aquincum Museum at an event organised by the Friends of Aquincum.

Young florists will decorate the Museum and Archaeological Park with flower displays inspired by Roman art. Visitors can explore the crafts of the ancient world and discover the daily lives of Roman soldiers, gladiators, Germanic and Celtic warriors and watch their combat re-enactments.

Visitors can also participate in an interactive adventure, in which they can unravel an Aquincum mystery as they discover the Archaeological Park and the camps of the re-enactors.

Programmes running continuously on each day:

  • Discover ancient daily life and weapons in the camps of the re-enactors

  • Gladiatorial school and mini-arena games for kids

  • Games of skill

  • Interactive adventure: in the footsteps of the timeless warriors (11:00-17:00)

  • Bread baking (14:00-18:00)

  • Exhibition of ancient instruments (only during the Floralia)

  • Arts and crafts workshops, crafts fair (felting, pottery making, jewellery making, net weaving, basket weaving, forging, plant weaving, weaving-knitting, shield painting, fresco making)

Children (ages 3-6) 500 HUF
Family ticket (2 adults + 2 children) 5000 HUF

All visitors with a permanent address in the 3rd District receive a 50% discount.
