Over 9,000 People Swam Across Lake Balaton On Saturday
Some 9,724 people swam across Lake Balaton on Saturday for the 37th annual Lidl Balaton Cross Swimming event.

The swimmers, representing more than 1,000 Hungarian municipalities and 38 countries, covered the 5.2-kilometre distance between Révfülöp on the northern shore and Balatonboglár on the southern shore. More than one-third of them were women.

In the event’s history, swimmers have covered more than 1 million kilometres in all.
