Hungary is making preparations for the rotating presidency of the European Union Council to be held in the second half of 2024, President Katalin Novák said after talks in Brussels with President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola.
The government’s next National Consultation survey will include three questions on economic issues that substantially impact the Hungarian economy and the lives of Hungarian families and address “Brussels’s efforts to force its own will upon us”, the government spokeswoman said.
The government is aware of four hostages of Hungarian nationality or origin in Gaza, including two children, and the government is doing all it can to get them to safety, while there are no reports of any Hungarian deaths, Péter Szijjártó, the foreign minister said.
Addressing a commemoration of the 1956 uprising, Viktor Orbán said that Brussels was “just a bad modern-day parody" of Moscow.
