Plug-in Hybrids Under Scrutiny In Hungary
The Ministry of Innovation and Technology is working to amend the rules on which vehicles would be entitled to green license plates, Portfolio writes.

The second version of the Jedlik Ányos Plan, drafted to help the spread of electric vehicles, was published.

Although there are no details on the future of subsidies, decision makers are planning to tighten rules for granting green license plates to plug-in hybrid vehicles with high emissions.

The green license plates offer a range of benefits such as free parking, the right to use the bus lane and access to zones otherwise forbidden.

At present, only fully-electric cars and hybrids with at least 50km electric range are entitled to the green license plate, Portfolio notes.

The Minister of Innovation and Technology confirmed to Inforádió that the Ministry is working on tweaking rules.
