Hungary Votes To Merge Social Contributions From July 2020
Parliament voted to roll four kinds of social contribution into a single 18.5% contribution from July 1, 2020.

Under the law which parliament passed with 112 votes in favour, 20 against and 37 abstentions, the pension, health-care, labour-market and in-kind contributions will be rolled into one from next year.

Also, under the new law, private individuals who do not pay health insurance for three consecutive months will be barred from making use of state health-care services.

Health insurance will amount to 7,710 forints (EUR 23) a month. Barred citizens will still be entitled to ambulance services.
