Foreign-funded pressure groups are preparing to challenge the legitimacy of Hungary's election results, the Sovereignty Protection Office said in a statement.
Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó announced on Tuesday that he is filing a criminal complaint against Peter Magyar, leader of the opposition Tisza Party, for public defamation with malicious intent, citing "blatant lies" about the environmental and health compliance of the Samsung plant in the settlement of God, near Budapest, made during a Facebook livestream.
Hungarians are less concerned about war and slightly less likely to trust the EU than the average for the bloc, according to the latest Eurobarometer survey.
The European Parliament on Wednesday said it has adopted a report expressing its concern over alleged breaches of European Union values in Hungary and other member states.
