609 new cases were confirmed. The number of people infected with the coronavirus in Hungary now stands at 316,669. The number of deaths stands at 9,161, while the number of those recovered now stands at 134,344.

The number of infected people is growing exponentially throughout Europe, in the neighboring countries and in Hungary, and more and more people need hospital care.

The parliament voted to extend the state of emergency, and further protection measures were announced, designed to reduce the incidence of coronavirus disease and the burden on hospitals.

Since the epidemic cannot be stopped, the goal now is to slow it down, so Hungarian government is asking people for the cooperation, discipline and complience with the rules which are stricly monitored by the police.
