Registered Unemployment In Hungary Soars
The number of registered unemployed rose to 281,000 in March, up by 17,000 from 264,000 in February, the state employment service NFSZ announced on Tuesday.

Economic consequences of the coronavirus epidemic were felt almost immediately but seasonal factors also played a role in the increase, the NFSZ highlighted.

The unemployment rate in the economically active population rose to 6% from 5.7% in the previous month.

The largest increase in unemployment, of some 5,000 persons, was recorded in the age group over 55.

Mostly unskilled people – 9,000 in total – lost their jobs.
