Budapest Residents Allowed To Visit Countryside Properties
Budapest residents are free to go to the countryside to visit properties that they own, despite the general ban on trips outside the city, Prime Minister’s Office leader Gergely Gulyás told his press conference in Budapest on Thursday.

He also announced that Hungarians are free to play team sports.

He said a cabinet decree that has been published makes it unequivocal that everybody is free to pursue sports, play football, go cycling or play tennis or any other sport.

On the question of when tourism is expected to return to normal and when it will be possible to travel abroad, government spokeswoman Alexandra Szentkirályi told the same press conference that the current regulations remain in force until May 18 and the cabinet will make a decision next week.

Szentkirályi said she expects domestic tourism to return to normal in June.

However, Gulyás later said the cabinet hopes that travel can go ahead in July or August, but one cannot responsibly say that yet.
