Esztergom Freight Ferry Running Again
The freight ferry across the Danube River between Esztergom, Hungary and Stúrovo, Slovakia is operating again from Tuesday, Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Péter Szijjártó announced.

Hungary is always aiming to limit freight transport as little as possible during the restrictions imposed due to the epidemic, the minister underlined.

Truck traffic is significant between the two countries, as Slovakia is Hungary’s second largest export market, with annual turnover reaching €10 billion.

The opening of another border crossing for trucks reduces the burden on other crossing points and also helps companies nearby, Szijjártó said, without mentioning the Suzuki plant in Esztergom, Portfolio adds.
