Important Tax Office Deadline Approaching About Providing Invoices Online
All businesses and foundations will be required to submit their invoices to the tax office online from July 1, Index reports.

Businesses have been required since last July to submit electronically all invoices with a VAT amount of over Ft 100,000.

From next month this will be extended to all invoices, even those without VAT content.

A third phase will be launched on January 1, when invoices issued to Hungarian and foreign individuals must also be connected to the system.

The July deadline affects hundreds of thousands of companies, private businesses, individuals with tax numbers, associations and foundations.

There is a three-month grace period, but companies nevertheless must register on NAV’s online system by the July 1 deadline.

The tax office has developed a mobile app for online invoicing, but there are other services available for paperless transactions accepted by NAV, such as szamlazz.hu, bilingo.hu and billzone.eu, which also have free versions depending on the number of transactions, Index adds.
