According to the constitution, a national referendum is valid if more than half of all voters cast a valid vote. Half of all voters, i.e., the threshold, was 4,107,652 voters.
On this basis, validity could have been achieved, as many more than 4 million people voted, but so many voted invalidly on all four questions that it is already quite certain that the number of valid voters will not exceed the threshold.
According to the Basic Law, a national referendum is valid if more than half of all voters cast a valid vote and is successful if “more than half of the voters who cast a valid vote gave the same answer to the question “.
On this basis, with a 94% turnout, 3,305,941 people (44.4%) voted validly, 1,492,985 (19.8%) voted invalidly and 2,707,119 (35.8%) did not cast a ballot.
As the number of voters who did not cast a ballot and the number of invalid votes already exceeds half of all voters, so the referendum cannot be valid, even if all votes not yet counted were valid.
