President Áder Villa in Budapest Renovated for HUF 900 Million
The 12th District residence to be given to outgoing President János Áder for lifelong use after May 9 has been renovated and ex-panded at a cost of nearly Ft 1 billion, the website Átlátszó reports.

The state property at Béla király út 3/a in Budapest’s 12th District, part of the Normafa Park historical sports area, has been rebuilt for Áder.

The public procurement authority put the costs of construction at Ft 929 million in reply to the website’s request for public data.

However, Átlátszó said it is not clear from the answer provided which tasks are covered by the sum and whether it indicates the full price of the investment on Svábhegy.

The renovated building with an area of 2,131m2 will have a 178m2 terrace and roof garden, as well as a sauna, a fitness room, a two-car garage and a lift.

Officially the construction project is a na-tional economic priority, related to invest-ments in the Normafa park, but, since the project is in fact not related to the designated subject, the website says is it possible that the cabinet wanted to exclude the project from local construction regulations and to speed up the work process and procedures.
