Peter Magyar, leader of the victorious Tisza Party, has called on the current government to extend the wartime state of emergency until May 31.
Peter Magyar, the leader of the Tisza Party, on Wednesday said President Tamas Sulyok will formally invite him to form the next government. Magyar met the president after Sulyok invited the leaders of the parties with mandates in the new parliament to attend talks at Sandor Palace.
Hungary will have to fulfil so-called "super milestones" in order to access the European Union's Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) funds, the European Commission's spokesperson told a press briefing in Brussels on Tuesday.
Tisza has won convincingly, with 138 seats in Hungary’s 199-seat parliament, securing a two-thirds supermajority. Fidesz falls to 55 seats, and will serve as the main opposition party. DK failed to win a single seat, and Klára Dobrev resigned as party leader.
