Budapest Landmarks to Be Lit Up Pink in Campaign Against Breast Cancer on Sunday
Budapest’s Liberty Statue and the Fishermen’s Bastion will be illuminated pink this weekend to mark an awareness campaign in October highlighting the issue of breast cancer, the organisation behind the initiative, Bridge of Health – Cooperation Against Breast Cancer Association, said.

The association has organised annual walks to highlight the issue of breast cancer for the past 20 years, during which the Chain Bridge is normally swathed in pink light.

This year, because the bridge is being renovated, the walk will take place along the river Danube’s eastern embankment, they said.

A pink ribbon is a sign of solidarity with breast cancer patients, the association noted in its statement.

The walk will start at 6.30pm on Sunday.
